When you reach the top edge of the pallet, make two full wraps at the maximum height without advancing —this fixes the top— and then begin to descend in a spiral on the way back, also with 50% overlap. Reaching all the way down is important on tall loads or rough transits: the double pass (ascent + descent) doubles the hold in critical zones such as the corners of large boxes.
Once the descending spiral is complete, make two final wraps at base level, press the film against a previous layer to activate the cling and cut with scissors or a packaging knife in a transverse direction. The cling will automatically seal the end. Check by pressing with your hand: if the end hangs loose, repeat it with two extra fingers of pressure.
Never start the spiral at the top and go down without having anchored at the bottom. Without a lower anchor, the first three wraps do not resist the inertia of the turning and the film comes off entirely as soon as the pallet moves, leaving it open at the first transport.
