Working with large strapping coils in professional palletizing operations without having to load a 25 kg coil onto the pallet or having the strapping tangle when unrolling requires a dispenser cart with a tool tray and coil brake. This strapping dispenser cart—also known as a strapping reel stand or strapping unwinder—is manufactured by Fortemo with a reinforced steel frame, side disc, and braking mechanism, in formats compatible with 203 mm (8 in) cores or adaptable to 406 mm (16 in), designed for warehouses, distribution centers, and palletizing operations where continuous strapping flow is part of daily work.

Key Benefits

  • Reinforced steel structure: body dimensioned for intensive industrial use, supports heavy strapping coils, and withstands warehouse transit without deforming.
  • Coil braking mechanism: tension system that prevents the coil from continuing to rotate due to inertia after pulling the strap, which prevents tangles and material waste on the floor.
  • Integrated tool tray: upper surface dimensioned to carry the strapping tool, tensioner, seals, and cutter along with the coil, centralizing the strapping equipment in a single mobile station.
  • Industrial transit wheels: designed for smooth movement over warehouse floors, loading docks, and construction areas without getting stuck on uneven surfaces or debris.
  • Universal coil compatibility: works with standard 203 mm (8 in) logistics cores and, in an adaptable variant, also with 406 mm (16 in) cores used in larger industrial coils.

Typical Applications and Uses

  • Palletizing in logistics warehouses and distribution centers with continuous flow of pallets for shipping.
  • On-site packaging operations with polypropylene or polyester strapping where mobility of the strapping station is required.
  • Manufacturing centers where in-line strapping requires bringing the coil to the workstation instead of fixing it to a point.
  • Securing loads in export yards and inter-island transit areas.

Quality and Durability

An economical dispenser cart fails in two points: the structure is made of thin sheet metal (which deforms with the first bump against a warehouse column) and the braking mechanism is deficient. Fortemo works with reinforced steel and a braking mechanism calibrated for heavy coils, which separates a professional operation cart from a generic cart that lasts a season before starting to fail.

Also known as: Technical: strapping reel stand, strapping unwinder, mobile strapping dispenser, strapping cart, industrial coil dispenser. In DR and Caribbean: carro de fleje, carrito de fleje, portafleje, dispensador de fleje. In other countries: strap dispenser cart (USA), banding cart (USA), carrito zunchador (LATAM), portabobinas (ES), dispensador de zuncho (MX, CO).

It is designed for polypropylene (PP), polyester (PET) plastic strapping and woven cord strap. The brake system and side disks are sized for those materials in standard logistics coils. It is not intended for steel strapping, which requires specific industrial coil holders with a friction system for metal and different dimensions. For mixed PP+PET strapping, this dispenser cart is the right choice.

It works with standard 203 mm (8 in) cores, the dominant size in Dominican and international logistics. The adaptable variant also accepts 406 mm (16 in) cores, used on larger industrial coils that extend the cycle between coil changes. Checking the coil core before choosing a variant matters: an incompatible core forces the use of adapters that reduce stability and cause uneven unwinding.

Yes — it is sized for continuous professional use. The reinforced steel frame and industrial wheels withstand repeated traffic through warehouses, distribution centers or logistics operations handling dozens of pallets a day. The wheels are designed to clear small uneven floors, concrete joints and raised crossings typical of dispatch areas. For occasional home use it is overkill; it earns its place in professional operations with continuous flow.

Three practical reasons. First, ergonomics: the operator avoids stooping every few pallets and reduces lower-back injuries during long shifts. Second, tension control: the coil brake keeps the strap taut while unwinding, which produces more even strapping. Third, organization: the tool tray centralizes the strapping tool, seals and cutter in a single mobile location. The difference shows from the first shift: less time lost searching for tools and fewer strapping errors.

The brake mechanism withstands prolonged continuous use under normal conditions without requiring frequent adjustment. In intensive operations (heavy coils, high daily traffic) it's worth checking the brake tension from time to time and cleaning dust or debris from the shaft, since accumulated dust can reduce brake efficiency. That's the only care the part needs over years of professional service.
