Wrapping counter trays with a film that clings instantly, clear and glossy, so the product looks its best and stays sealed without creases, requires a high-cling food-grade PVC. This food-grade PVC cling film —also called vitafilm or cling film— is manufactured by Fortemo from food-grade PVC with high clarity and superior cling, in 30 and 45 cm rolls with a dispenser box and cutter, designed for supermarkets, butcher shops, greengrocers and kitchens.

Key benefits

  • Maximum cling: the food-grade PVC seals instantly on trays, glass and plastic, closing around the edge without creases or adhesives.
  • Counter-ready clarity and gloss: the high-clarity film enhances the color of the product, ideal for display in cases and on shelves.
  • Food contact approved: complies with FDA and EU food contact regulations, valid for local sale and export.
  • Dispenser box with cutter: a clean, continuous cut with every pull, without the roll tangling or losing the leading edge.
  • Yield per roll: 300 m per roll reduces changeovers in high-volume packing operations.

Typical applications and uses

  • Wrapping and displaying trays of meat, fruit, vegetables and deli products in supermarkets and corner stores.
  • Sealing platters and portions in kitchens, catering and takeaway service.
  • Counter packaging in butcher shops, greengrocers, fishmongers and rotisseries.
  • Preserving food in cold rooms and display cases where maximum product visibility is required.

Quality and durability

A low-grade food PVC gives itself away at the counter: weak cling that lets the tray open, hazy film that dulls the product, or uneven thickness that tears. Fortemo works with food-grade PVC with an approved plasticizer and high cling, the standard that seals on the first pass and keeps the presentation flawless all day long.

Also known as: Technical: food-grade PVC film, cling film, vitafilm, PVC cling film, food stretch film. In DR and Caribbean: vitafilm, plástico adherente, plástico de bandeja, film de mostrador. In other countries: PVC cling film (USA), cling wrap (USA), film transparente (LATAM), film adherente (ES).

How is it different from food-grade PE film?

Cling PVC is the counter film: maximum adherence (superior cling) that seals trays instantly on foam trays, glass and plastic, and a bright transparency that enhances the product's color in the display case. PE film is the plasticizer-free alternative, preferred for fatty foods, dairy and raw meat, and for freezer and gentle microwave use. The practical choice: PVC for display and fast tray wrapping; PE for kitchen, cold room and fatty foods.

Is it suitable for direct contact with food?

Yes. It is made of food-grade PVC with an approved plasticizer and complies with FDA and EU food-contact regulations, valid for local sale and export. It is the standard film in butcher shops, greengrocers and supermarkets for wrapping trays of meat, fruit, vegetables and deli products. For foods with very high fat content in prolonged contact, the sector's usual practice is to prefer PE film, which carries no plasticizers.

Which surfaces does it stick to best?

PVC cling works best on smooth, rigid surfaces: foam or plastic trays, glass, ceramic and the film itself (film-on-film sealing around the rim). On those surfaces it closes instantly, with no adhesives or folds. On damp surfaces, greasy rims or porous cardboard the grip drops: dry the rim of the container before wrapping so the seal stays firm all day.

Which width should I choose: 30 or 45 cm?

The 30 cm is the counter format for individual trays of meat, fruit or deli: quick to pull and cut at the pace of retail service. The 45 cm covers large trays, platters and rotisserie containers without joining sections. Both deliver 300 m per roll with a dispenser box and cutter, in cases of 6 rolls. If your display combines both tray sizes, the usual setup is to keep both widths at the packing table.
